Page Four N/Warren Town and County News Thursday, September 26, 2013 , New Mobile Forensic Device Tuesday, Sept. 17, Iowa Division of Criminal Investi- gation Assistant Director Gerard Meyers, along with Special Agent in Charge of the Cyber Crime Unit, Nathaniel McLaren, presented a Cellebrite UFED Mo- bile Examination Device for use by all Warren County Law Enforcement Agencies. The device was provided by the Iowa Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force to assist officers in investi- gations related to crimes against children. This device is capable of extracting data from mobile devices such as cellular phones, tablets and GPS units and then com- piling that data into a user-friendly report. The device was presented to Warren County Law Enforcement Agencies because of their collaborative effort in respond- ing to and investigating crimes against children. September-14 Officer tripped to the 9100 block of Happy Hol- low Drive for a burglary/ theft report. Information was taken and a report was made; investigation con- tinues in the case. September 15 Called to the 1200 block of North Avenue for a Motor Vehicle theft report. Lisa Gonzales, 40, Story City, reported her vehicle missing from the high school parking lot. The vehicle was later returned to the owner, who de- dined any charges. Report was made. September 16 Officer called to Rolling Hills Court and Shady Lane Drive for a property damage accident. Vehicle driven by Scan Hammer, Norwalk, struck a parked vehicle occupied by Russell Bonnet, Norwalk. There were no injuries and both vehicles were opera- tional. Information was taken for report. Subject reported being bitten by a dog near the intersection of North Av- enue and Sunset Drive on the afternoon of Septem- ber 15, 2013. Owner of dog was not identified. Infer- marion was taken and a report was made. September 19 Called to the 3100 block of Echo Valley Drive for a theft report. Information was taken and a report was made; case remains under investigation. September 4 60(59 60th Avenue, Nan- cy Hansen, Norwalk, re- ported Identity Theft. September 6 Burglary of multiple storage sheds reported at 7995 Hwy 28, Prole Mini Storage; investigation con- tinues. September 7 Bevington Kum & Go reported theft of fuel in the amount of $20.02. September 8 12000 block of Carpen- ter Street, Alan Care Car- rillo, Mexico, was located unconscious at a celebra- tion at a northern Warren County residence. Un- known if he was uncon- scious because of his level of intoxication or the vic- tim of an assault; investi- gation continues. 8000 block of Ridge- view Drive, Frank Leonet- ti reported Criminal Mis- chief, glass damage; $425 loss. 12000 block of Carpen- ter Street, Ruben Rodriqu- ez, 36, Des Moines, was arrested for OWI and No Drivers License. September 16 3400 block of Adams Street, Annette Kendall, Cumming` reported Bur- glary. Electronic items, firearms, jewelry stolen; $1,000 loss. The car then went back into the west ditch and drove an additional 254' through some dense weeds before stopping. The driver left the scene of the accident. W Law Enforcement was no- tiffed of a vehicle in the ditch about three hours af- ter the accident. The driv- er did eventually meet with law enforcement and stated that she was driving at 60 mph, through sec- tions of thick fog, when a deer ran out in front of her car from the west ditch. The driver swerved to avoid the deer, lost control of the car and while in a panic, pushed the acceler- ator down to the floor in- stead of the brake petal. Driver stated that she did not call Law Enforcement to report the accident be- cause she did not'think that it was required for her to do so.
