Monday, Sept. 16, the Norwalk Warrior boys golf team traveled to Ames to compete in the Ames Invi- tafional: The Warriors shot their best 18-hole meet score of the year and placed 10th in the 24 team field. Norwalk fired a 324 which bested their previ- : ................... ::_ ous best team score by 13 ...... strokes. Waukee won the meet with a 289. The field featured five of the top six ranked teams in the state. Norwalk was led by junior Carter Mallett. Mallett shot 77 and finished in 13th place overall. Mallett drove the ball beautifully all day and was very con- sistent on the greens with no three putts. Junior Carter Albrecht and junior Mike Guessford also had good days shooting 80 and 82, respectively. Other Norwalk Swimmer Participates in LHS Swim Team Mallett placing at Ames. Photos submitted. NMS Cross Country News Tuesday, Sept. 17, the Norwalk Middle School Cross Country team trav- eled to Oskaloosa to com- pete in a cross country meet. The boys team fin- ished in 4th place out of 11 teams. The girls team fin- ished 5th out of 11 teamS. Oskaloosa won the boys division and Ottumwa won the girls division. Both boys and girls races were 1.6 miles.
