Alexa Berkenpas, a se-
nior studying dietetics at
Iowa State University has
been chosen to serve as a
student ambassador for
the College of Human Sci-
ences. Berkenpas is from
Norwalk.
Serving as a Human
Sciences Recruitment Am-
bassador is an exciting vol-
unteer opportunity within
the College of Human Sci—
ences. The Ambassadors
share their personal expe-
riences to present a posi-
tive, realistic student View
of the College of Human
Sciences to prospective
students and their families

Katelan King was
elected president of the
Iowa State University Ki-
nesiology and Health Club
for the 2015—16 academic
year. King, who is from
Des Moines, is senior
studying kinesiology and
health in the College of
Human Sciences at Iowa
State.
Purpose of the Kinesiol-
ogy and Health Club is to
facilitate activities that re—
late to physical activity,
wellness and health. In
addition to introducing
students to the ideas of es-
tablishing and maintain-
ing an active and healthy
lifestyle, while sharing the
information with the com-
munity.

The South Suburban
YMCA, 401 E. Army Post
Road, offers swimming
lessons for babies 6
months-3 years; pre-
school children 3 to 5 years
old; and youth 6 to 12
years old.
A new session begins
the week of January Octo-
r ber 11 for Waterbabies and
October 25 for Preschool
and School—age children. If
the participant is a mem-
ber, the fees are $52 for Pre-
school and School-age, and
$12 for Waterbabies. Non-
members pay $104 for Pre-
school and School-age and
$35 for Waterbabies.
