LANE A Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, Oct. 4, in Urbandale for Paul Stephen Lane, 46, Urbandale, who died suddenly Thursday, Sept. 30, in Des Moines. Cre- mation rites followed the funeral mass and private com- mittal services will take place at a later date. Mr. Lane was born May 25, 1964 in Des Moines to Joseph R. Lane Sr. and Joanne M. Lane. He was a 1983 graduate of Urbandale High School and attended the University of Iowa in Iowa City. He married Leisha J. Kiesling in Mexico May 23, 2009 and they made their home in Urbandale. For more than 20 years, he owned and operated The Funny Bone Comedy Club in West Des Moines, as well as comedy clubs in South Bend, IN and St. Louis, MO. He touched many lives throughout the United States and will be forever missed by those who knew and loved him. Survivors include his wife, Leisha Lane of Urbandale; daughter, Natalie Lane of Ankeny; two stepdaughters, Jessie Kiesling of Des Moines and Lindsey Kiesling of Urbandale; mother, Joanne Lane of Urbandale; father, Joseph (Marilyn) Lane Sr. of West Des Moines; mother- in-law, Luella Van Wey of Johnston; siblings, Joseph Lane Jr. of Chicago, IL, Kathy (David) Adamson of Indianola, Mark (Connie) Lane of Knoxville, Tim (Cindy) Lane of Norwalk, and Ted Lane, Mike (Lisa) Lane and Hunter Lane, all of Chicago; sister-in-law, Lori Van Wey of Ackley and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his father-in-law, Leslie Van Wey. The family respectfully requests that memorial con- tributions be made to The Paul S. Lane Memorial Fund. Burial was at the Norwalk Cemetery. Mr. Onstot was born in Norwalk May 13, 1927 the son of Ray and Esther Onstot. He drove a semi for 25 years before open- ing Ted's Used Cars and Water Hauling in 1966. His business was first located at the gas station on the corner of Main Street and North Avenue. He later sold used cars on the lot between the old Gideon building (now Norwalk Collision Center) and the Huff home on Main Street. He then moved the business to the current site at the corner of North Av- enue and Hwy 28 where Ted Onstot two more generations are running the business. Survivors include his wife, Donna; sons, Mark, and his sons, Timothy and Christopher, and Tony (Missy), and their sons, Anthony and Lukas; a sis- ter, Mary Schimelfenig and a host of nieces and nephews.
