Box 325, Norwalk, IA50211 Member of: National Newspaper Iowa Newspaper Association Association OBITUARY JOHN FRANKLIN FOUST Services were held MondaF Oct. 7, at Iles Westover Chapel for John Franklin FouSt, 70, Des Moines, who died Thursda Oct. 3. Burial was at the Norwalk Cem- etery in Norwalk. Mr. Foust was born February 9, 1943 in Cool to James and Lena (Hague) Foust. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Mr. Foust graduated from Indianola High School. He married Mary (Atkinson) Foust November 25, 1967 in Chillicothe, MO and they made their home in Des Moines. Mr. Foust earned his accounting degree from Ferris State University and later, his law degree from Drake University. He was a renaissance man, balancing his professional life as a CPA with his passion for farming. He also enjoyed traveling, hunting, fishing and being outdoors. Most importantly, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Survivors include'his wife of 45 years, Mary Foust of Des Moines; sons, Michael (Dorry) Foust of Windsor Heights and Brian (Christine) Foust of Flower Mound, TX; four grandchildren, Amanda, Michael, Madelyn and Christopher Foust and a brother, James (Pamela) Foust. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lena Foust. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice. OBITUARY BARBARA K. COLEMAN A visitation was held Friday, Oct. 11,-at Brooks Funeral Care in Clive for Barbara K. Colemarl, 69, Norwalk. She died Sun- day, Oct. 6, of ovarian can- cer at Norwalk Regency Care Center. The body has been cremated and private burial was at Sunset Me- morial Gardens in Des Moines. Mrs. Coleman was born September 10, 1944 in Lin- den to LeRoy and Erna Simmer. She graduated from Linden High School in 1962. She retired from Hewlett-Packard in 2012. In her spare time, she en- joyed knitting, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her mother, Erna Simmer of Grimes; daughter, Tamara (Arlene) Coleman of Norwalk; son, Scott (Kelly) of Urbandale; three grand- children, Lindsay, Jackson and Abby Coleman of Barbara K. Coleman Urbandale; sister, Joanne (Lorrence) Huggins of Panora; brother, Wayne (Toni) Simmer of West Des Moines; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, LeRoy Simmer. She was a lov- ing wife, mother, grand mother, sister and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Greg; daughters, Sarah (Chase) Schieffer and Katie Caudill (Scott LaRue); grandchil- dren, Madeleine and Char- lotte Schieffer and Dustin LaRue; sister, Deb (Larry) Patricia Ann (Neuendorf) Caudill Oman and nephew, Max Oman. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elston and Elizabeth Neuendorf. OBITUARY "JEFFREY LEE THOMSEN A graveside service was held Tuesda Oct. 8, at the Iowa Veterans Cemete.ry near Van Meter for Jeffrey Lee Thomsen, 63, Des Moines, who died Fridaj6 Oct. 4. Mr. Thomsen was born March 10, 1950 in Carroll to Harvey and Grace Thomsen. He was a U.S. Navy vet- eran during the Vietnam War. He graduated in 1968 from Paton Churdan High School and was a retired steamfitter and a member of Local Union 33. Survivors include his mother, Grace Thomsen of Norwalk; three brothers, Tommy of Urbandale, Mike of Cincinnati, OH, Scott (Debbie) of Norwalk, and a daughter, Marcella Bilvado of Las Cruces, NM.
