OBITUARY
MARGARET HARRIET SPICK
Services were held in Indianola Wednesday, Nov. 14,
for Margaret Harriet Spick, 97, a resident of the Norwalk
Nursing and Rehabilitation Center where she died Fri-
da Nov. 9. Burial was at Wallace Cemetery in Wick,
which overlooks the family farm and homestead.
Survivors include her three children, Marijane (Ri-
chard) Hornung, Union City, CA, Joe (Cathi) Spick of
West Des Moines and A1 (Kathy) Spick of St. Charles;
brother, Louis (Harriet) McDonald of Winterset; sister-
in-law, Jane (Bob) Harper of West Des Moines; four
grandsons, two granddaughters and seven great-grand-
children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved
husband, Bud; special friend, Clarence Wildin; and sis-
ters, Mary, Mable, Georgie and Thelma.
Memorial contributions may be made to the
Martensdale-St. Marys Schools.

OBITUARY
HELEN "MARIE" ADAMS
Services were held
Tuesday, Nov. 13, in In-
dianola for Helen "Marie"
Adams, 76, Des Moines,
who died Frida3¢ Nov. 9, at
Winterset Care Center.
Burial was in the Linn
Grove Cemetery, Prole.
Mrs. Adams was born
in Weldon March 2, 1936
to Bruce and Jessie Pol-
lock. She attended school
in Garden Grove and
graduated from Cambria
High School. She later at-
tended school to train as a
court reporter. She worked
at American Mutual Insur-
ance Company in Des
Moines. She met the love
of her life, Jerry Adams in
Des Moines and they mar-
ried and had three daugh-
ters, Marcia, Jodi and Julie.
Mrs. Adams enjoyed being
a stay-at-home morn.
The couple owned and
operated Adams Brothers
Skelly in Martensdale with
Jerry's brother Jim and his
wife Mary June for 25
years. They also owned
J&J Sweet Shoppe in Win-
terset and Golfarama in
Norwalk.
Mrs. Adams later
worked for Sears, Com-

She was a member of
Martensdale Flames and
Centerville Chapter No.
239 Order of Eastern Star.
Survivors indude daugh-
ters, Marcy Adams, Jodi

(Russ) Stone; grandchil-
dren, Andrew and Sydnee
Nicholl, Melissa (Jeff)
Bosch and Michael (Bekka)
Nicholl; great-grandchil-
dren, Evaline Bosch and
Issiah Nicholl; and brother,
Roy (Betty) Pollock.
She was preceded in
death by her parents; hus-
band Jerry, and brothers,
Max and Rex Pollock.
OBITUARY
HELEN DEMETRA "DEE" WOLFE
Services were held Saturday, Nov. 17, at St. George
Greek Orthodox Church in Des Moines for Helen
Demetra "Dee" Wolfe, 78, Des Moines. She died Tues-
day, Nov. 13, at Taylor House Hospice in Des Moines.
Burial was at Berwick Cemetery.
Mrs. Wolfe was a homemaker and had worked at
Iowa Methodist Medical Center in the Environmental
Services Department. She enjoyed playing bingo and
loved playing the Wild Rose slot machine at Prairie
Meadows.
Survivors include her children, Deborah Eatwell, Lee
Wolfe, Shirlee Johnston, Belle Wolfe, Guy Wolfe and Leo
Wolfe, all of Des Moines, and James (Susan Lewistoh)
Wolfe of Norwalk; brothers, Gus Vlassis of Dalton, PA,
Jim (Jeanette) Vlassis of San Diego, CA and Tom (Sophie)
Vlassis of Des Moines; eight grandchildren; 14 great-
grandchildren and her life-long and best friend of over
50 years, JoAnn Pike of Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her hus-
band Richard, son Richard Wolfe Jr., daughter Linda
Wolfe, and sister, Gretchen Aldrich.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. George
Greek Orthodox Church.
