Box 325, Norwalk, IA 50211 Member of: National Newspaper Iowa Newspaper Association Association OBITUARY ALICE BLANCHE GRACEY Alice Blanche Gracey, 93, daughter of Fred Albert Soper and Flossie Lettice (Rood) Soper was born November 17, 1921 in Dow City and passed from this life Tuesday, Nov. 18, at West Lakes Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. She was united in mar- riage to Foss M. Gracey June 4, 1946 at Hiawatha, KS and four children blessed this union. Alice worked as a seam- stress for Snowdons in Osceola for many years. She was a member of the Truro Congregational United Church of Christ and taught Sunday School there for nearly 42 years. She was also a member of the Jolly Fu for two years when she decided she wanted to join Thursday ~,Girls to make quilts. Alice formed the Truro Cub Scouts as a "den mother," a position she held from 1960-1982. She was one of the first "First Responders" in Truro and she was chosen to serve as Parade Marshal in 2009. She felt very honored to be able to serve the Truro Town and Country Cel- ebration. She was a very faithful member of the Truro Lions Club and UCC Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; hus- band, Foss; daughters, Dedra J. Gracey and Dixie Nicholson; brothers, Lewis Soper and Wayne Soper; sisters, Ruth King, Grace Chumbley, Vera Hupton, Aldora Tripp and Eula Jean West. Survivors include daughter, Diana J. (Galyn) Bedwell of Norwalk; son, Danny J. (Gail) Gracey of Wakefield, RI; sister, Nellie Critz; brothers, Max "John" (Audrey) Soper of Indianola, William (Char- Alice Blanche Gracey lotte) Soper of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Cory Gracey of Everett, WA, Shawn Gracey of Des Moines, Megan (Paul) Kingery of Des Moines, Kirk Bedwell of Indianola, Amy (Barry) Tlachof Prole; and 11 great-grand- children. Services were held at Truro Congregational United Church of Christ, Saturday, Nov. 22, with Pastor Shonda Deranaleau officiating. Interment was at the Fields Cemetery in Clarke County. Memorials to the family will be accept- ed. Del Wadle was born May 4, 1946 in Des Moines to Robert and Victoria (Schneider) Wadle. He was the second of six children. After graduating from Delno Dowling High School in 1964, he continued his ed- ucation at Creighton Uni- versity in Omaha, NE. Del received his Bachelor of Science in Business Ad- ministration in 1968. He married his long-time friend, Mary, January 27, 1968. They were blessed with one son, Dan, and two daughters, Johnnine and Michelle. Before Del retired two years ago, his career in- cluded Business Manage- ment, Owner of Tidy Car and an IT Programmer. Also, Del was a Certified PMP consultant for sever- al different companies. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening, stain glass art, etching and wood-making projects. To Del, becoming a grandfather was the ful- fillment of his life cycle as he was blessed with his grandson, Brian, and his granddamghter, Kelli.
