Christmas Tour of Homes
The tradition continues
into its 51st year Friday,
Dec. 6, 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and
Saturda Dec. 7, 10 a.m.-5
p.m. The tour, previously
hosted by the Garden Club,
has been adopted by the
Pella Convention and Visi-
tors Bureau. A highlight of
the 2013 tour will be the tra-
ditional Dutch Coffee
Time, hosted at the former
Historic Strawtown Inn
Restaurant, which will
open daily at 9 a.m. Five
homes will be offered on
"Grand" new place, same classic taste/

used either of the two
event dates, Friday or Sat-
urday. Tickets are avail-
able through the Pella
Convention and Visitors
Bureau/Chamber Office at
818 Washington St. in
PeUa, by mail, or at a num-
ber of local retail busi-
nesses. Ticket price for the
tour including the Dutch
Coffee Time at Historic
Strawtown is just $15

Any proceeds from the
tour will go toward ongo-
ing special events in Pella,
community beautification
or other projects that en-
courage visitor traffic as
well as quality of life ini-
tiatives for Pella's resi-
dents.

Sale Dec. 7
Members of Linn Grove
United Methodist Church,
south of Norwalk just off
Hwy 28, will host their
annual Cookie and Candy
Sale Saturday, Dec. 7, from
9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the
church.
Goodies may be pur-
chased for $6 per pound.
All proceeds will be used
to help a family have a
Merry Christmas.
Trees, Tastes
And Trimmings

Members of St. Paul
Lutheran Church of
Martensdale will hold
their annual Trees, Tastes
and Trimmings Saturday,
Dec. 7, from 9 a.m. to 3
p.m. The congregation
currently meets at As-
sumption Catholic Church
and the event will be held
at the church hall, 2840
South St. in Churchville.
A chili and soup lun-
cheon will be served and
homemade Christmas
cookies and candy will be
sold by the pound. There
will also be a display of
trees and free cookies and
warm cider will be served.
A number of vendors will
also be present to assist
customers with their holi-
day shopping.
The new church will be
completed shortly so next
year the event will once
again be held at the church
in Martensdale.
