Usher in the Christmas season by visiting
Fellowship Community Church at 225 North Avenue
in Norwalk. Fellowship invites the public to a
Synchronized Lights & Live Nativity event from 5:30
pm-8:00 pm on Saturday, December 8th and 5:30 pm-
8:00 pm on Sunday, December 9th. The church
property will be covered in 60,000+ LED lights
synchronized to Christmas music. A live nativity with
real animals will also be a part of the event.
Take in the sights and sounds of this event from
the comfort of your vehicle free cookies & hot
Chocolate will be brought to you! Fellowship would
also like to extend a heads up to the residents on
V'noll & Redwood of the increased traffic in their
neighborhood during this time frame & appreciates

OBITUARY
SANDRA JOHNSON
Sandra J. Johnson, 72,
passed away Saturday,
November 17th, 2018 at
Regency Care Center in
Norwalk. Sandra was
born in Great Lakes, IL
to Robert and Reva
(Thomas) Schumann.
She grew up in Des
Moines and graduated
from Roosevelt High
School. She attended
Northwest Missouri
State College and Grand
View Junior College, and
married Paul Johnson on
June 13th, 1967.
Sandra enjoyed play-
ing golf, cards, and
Tuesday morning coffee
with her friends.
Sandra's grandchildren
were the center of her
life. She cherished the
time spent with them.
Sandra is survived by
her husband Paul of
Norwalk; by two sons,
Paul III (Lisa) Johnson of
Tampa, FL and Kevin
(Kristy) ofUrbandale, IA;
four grandchildren Halle
and Paul Ryan Johnson
of Tampa, Florida &
Izzabelle and Eva
Johnson of Urbandale; a
brother Jeff Schumann,
of West Des Moines; and
a sister Linda Campbell
of San Pedro, California.
Sandra chose to be
cremated with no
services to be planned.

Reba Bowden, 92,
Norwalk, died Monday
morning, November
19th, 2018 at Unity Point
- Iowa Methodist
Hospital in Des Moines.
Reba Pearl Bowden
was born to Willard and
Opal (Shoemaker) Mason
on June 2nd, 1926, in
Bevier, MO. She was
raised in Macon, MO and
later graduated from
Huntsville High School.
On December 31st, 1942,
she married Joseph
Bowden Jr. in Bethany,
MO; to this union they
had 8 children.
In 1971, Reba and
Joseph moved to
Norwalk. She worked for
Iowa Casket Company,
and later went to work at
Ross Daniels, a root
feeder company, retiring
as a Union Steward after
20 years. Reba loved
being outdoors, camping,
and fishing. With the
family cramped into one

little car, she loved to
travel. She loved to sew
and crotchet and when
her children were
younger she made most
of their clothing. Reba
always had a trusty
Boston-Terrier
companion by her side.
Her favorite hobby was
spending time with her
grandchildren and great-
grandchildren.
Reba is survived by her
children Larry (Glenda)
Bowden, Sandra Merri-
field, Janice Bartley,
Susan Bowden (John),
Mike (Jeanie) Bowden,
Ray Bowden, Becky
Bowden, and Dave
Bowden; her siblings
Ronnie Mason (Nelsie)
and Doris Metzger (Max);
and numerous grand-
children and great-
grandchildren.
Reba was preceded in
death by her husband,
parents, and 6 siblings. J
A Celebration of Life
Service was held
November 24th at
O'Leary Funeral Ser-
vices in Norwalk. Burial
followed in the Norwalk
Cemetery.

Christmas in Bethlehem at
Linn Grove Church
Linn Grove United Methodist Church, 7483 50th
Avenue in Prole, will hold Christmas in Bethlehem
on Saturday, December 1st, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00
p.m.
Tents will be set up indoors to signify various shops
that may have been in Bethlehem when Jesus was
born. There will be events for all ages: cookie
decorating, story telling, bakery, quilts, stained glass,
and more. A free will offering will be accepted. Some
tents will have items for purchase.
