NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held before the WARREN
COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS on the 4th day of December, 2018 at
9:45 a.m. in the 2nd floor Board of Supervisors Meeting Room, Warren
County Administration Building, Indianola, Iowa.
Said hearing is in regard to a proposed amendment to the 2018 Warren County
Iowa, Revised Zoning and Subdivision Ordinances. The amendment
application is made by the Warren County Zoning Administrator. The
proposed amendment is in Chapter 46, SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS,
Section 46.09 SUBDIVISION DESIGN STANDARDS. 3 [D] Delete:
Subdivisions shall be located on Paved County and State Highways. If the
proposed subdivision is on a Grade A or Grade B County road, that road shall
be paved to the interconnecting paved road by the developer to the Warren
County Engineer's standards prior to platting. The Board of Supervisors,
following a report of the Zoning Commission, may waive the requirement for
paving the Grade A or Grade B road. A request for a waiver of the required
paving set out in this subsection should be made at the time of consideration
of the preliminary plat by the Commission. However, an application may be
made with the Warren County Zoning Administrator accompanied by a $500.00
application fee to request a waiver for the paving requirement to be considered
prior to the preliminary plat process. The recommendation of the Commission
shall then be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for approval or disapproval
of the waiver. The waiver would be considered for the current landowner and
the waiver would sunset once the property is conveyed to another person or
entity. Section 46.09 3 [D] should be amended to read as follows:
Subdivisions shall be located on Paved County and State Highways. If the
proposed subdivision is on a Grade A or Grade B County road, that road shall
be paved to the interconnecting paved road by the developer to the Warren
County Engineer's standards prior to platting.
The text of the application is on file in the ZONING OFFICE in the Warren
County Administration Building, 301 North Buxton, Suite 210, Indianola,
Iowa, and may be examined during regular office hours (Monday through Friday,
8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
Written comments will be accepted during regular office hours or before the
hearing. Send comments to: Warren County Zoning Office, 301 North Buxton,
