Nominations for Outstanding 4-H Leader Award
In October 2012, the
Meredith Foundation hon-
ored their departing edi-
tor-in-chief, Loren Kruse,
by establishing the Suc-
cessful Farming/Loren
Kruse Outstanding 4-H
Leader Award and is the
highest recognition a 4-H
leader can receive in the
state of Iowa.
Nomination forms for
the third annual award
are now available through
the Iowa 4-H Foundation.
This prestigious award

Director of the Iowa 4-H
Foundation. "They nomi-

Nominees must be
nominated by a current or
former Iowa 4-H member
and submitted online to the
Iowa 4-H Foundation by
February 1, 2015 and will
be reviewed by an indepen-
dent committee, led by a
youth trustee of the Iowa 4-
H Foundation board. The
recipient will be selected by
criteria standards and noti-
fied no later than June 1.
The nominee may be a cur-
rent or former Iowa 4-H
club leader who inspired a
4-H'er to reach potentials
beyond those they thought
they could achieve on their
own merits. "We're looking
for individuals who exem-
plify the type of leader that
helps young people be the
best they can be," said
Grunenwald. "People like
Loren Kruse's club leader
who helped him overcome
his fear of public speak-
ing."
