OFFICE INFORMATION
Pick up registration forms 24 hours a day at the Parks
and Recreation office or print them off our website:
www.ci.norwalk.ia.us. You can mail registration forms,
place them in our drop box or walk in. Our office is
located at 1100 Chatham Ave. (Public Safety Bldg.). Of-
rice hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p m. Monday thru Friday.
The drop box is open 24/7! If you have any questions,
call us at 981-9206 Online registration is available. (See

CRAFT CLUB
Get out your glue guns and imaginations for this pro-
gram. Children in 3rd through 5th grades at Lakewood
Elementary are invited to join. They meet once a month
after school on Thursday to make special arts and crafts
projects. Registration: Through January 3; Time: 3:15
to 4:15 p.m.; Dates: January 9, February 6; Location: Art
Room at Lakewood; Cost per class: Norwalk residents
$11.50/class, non-residents $13.25/class; Minimum/

ADULT PICK-UP BASKETBALL GAMES
Pick-up basketball games will be offered for adults.
Bring clean tennis shoes to wear for the games. This
program is only for residents who live within the
Norwalk School District. Program Dates: December 18,
January 8,15, 22, 29, February 5, 12, 19, 26, March 5, 12,

ADULT ED COMMUNITY EDUCATION AT MAIN
STREET MONTESSORI SCHOOL
Different classes are being offered at the Montessori
School on Main St. Registrations are either online or at
the Parks and Rec office
Jewelry Design- Join us for an evening of jewelry and
fun! A relaxed, casual atmosphere means no-stress jewelry-
making and you will go home with a sheet of reminders
and tips on technique. Necklaces earrings bracelets a
whole new world will open to you when you can make
your own jewelry. Our instructor is a professional artist
who will walk yOu through the simple basic techniques.
You needn't bring anything with you we will supply
all the tools and materials you will need for the class
and you will receive a list of suppliers. Join us making
jewelry is easier than you think! Date: January 16; Time:
7-8:30 p.m.; Cost: $15; Limit: 10 individuals.
Home Brewing- Beer Making 101- It's time to truly
test your skills and give brewing a try. In this class you
learn the basics of home beer making from brewing to
bottling. This class will run two sessions- the first month
to brew, the second to bottle. Each participant will leave
with the knowledge to start their own home brewing, a
list of supplies and suppliers and of course, their own
six pack of home brew. Date: February 6 and March 6;
Time: 7-8:30 p.m.; Cost: $30; Limit: 8 individuals.
Switch Plate Decorating- Tired of those dull and
boring switch plates (you know, the plate that holds
down your light switch)? Come learn a fun and func-
tional technique to personalize your plates. Alcohol ink
stamping involves little skill and can be applied to many
other items to create or embellish home d cor or jew-
elry. You bring the switch plates and we'll give you the
skills to create plates of art. Date: March 6; Time: 7-8:30
p.m.; Cost: $15; Limit: 10 individuals.
YOUTH DAY OFF ACTIVITIES
This year we will offer afternoon field trips to vari-
ous attractions in and around the metro area when kids
are off from school. The trips are held on specific non-
school days. These trips are for kids in 3rd, 4th and 5th
grade. Students will meet the bus at Lakewood Elemen-
tary School to board. Important: Snacks are NOT in-
cluded in this year's activities; send extra money if
your child wants a snack. Time: Leave I p.m. and re-
turn by 4:15 p.m.; Location: Leave from Lakewood El-
ementary School (Parents, pick student up from school
no later than 4:30 p.m.); Fee: Varies by trip/activity (see
below); Registration: Through March 14; Minimum/
Maximum: 30/65.
December 30-Sleepy Hollow Sports Park: You know
how fun sledding is - tubing is even better! The hill at
Sleepy Hollow is 15 stories high and you don't have to
walk back up! As the surface lifts pull you to the top,
prepare for the release, which sends you flying down
the 1,000-foot runs. All lanes are constantly monitored
for everyone's safety. Tubes will be provided Dress
warm (gloves, hats and boots). Cost: Norwalk residents
$15, non-residents $17.25.
January 3-Movie Day at Jordan Creek: Kick back and
enjoy a movie at Jordan Creek Century 21 Theatre. We
give the kids a choice between two movies and it will
be rated G or PG. Cost: Norwalk residents $10, non-
residents $11.50.
February 20-Climb Iowa: Climb Iowa is Iowa's larg-
est indoor climbing and training facility, with more than
10,000 square feet of climbing, 200 routes and problems.
Included in the prices is all climbing equipment and
two hours of unlimited climbing. A safety waiver must
be completed and turned in to participate in this pro-
gram. Cost: Norwalk residents $12, non-residents
$13.80.
March 19-Incredible Pizza of Urbandale: Over 100
games, ticket games and simulators await you! Included

in the price will be an arcade game card and two hours
of unlimited attractions such as bumper cars, go-karts,
mini bowling, or mini golf! Must be 50" for bumper cars.
Cost: Norwalk residents $25, non-residents $28.75.
ADULT COED VOLLEYBALL - A & B LEAGUE
Two separate leagues are offered for coed volleyball.
The A league is considered an A power league, while B
league is considered a recreation league. Each league
will be limited to six teams. Officials will be provided
for each game. Register as a team. You need a minimum
of six players with a maximum of 10. This league is a
first come, first serve basis until it is full. Winter Regis-
tration Dates: December 16 through December 27; Pro-
gram Dates: January 6, 13, 20, 27, February 3, 10, 17,24,
March 3; Days: Mondays; Times: 7:30, 8:15, 9 p.m.; Lo-
cation: Norwalk Middle School; Cost per team: $86.25
(up to 10 players); Minimum/Maximum number of
teams: 4/12.
ADULT DODGEBALL LEAGUE
Join a couple of friends and come out and enjoy an
evening ojf dodgeball. This league will play on Sunday
nights at the Norwalk Middle School. This league will
be self-officiating. Register as a team. You will need a
minimum of six players with a maximum of 10. This
league is a first come, first serve basis until it is full.

STEP BENCH AEROBICS/INTERVAL
Step aerobics/Interval is a class of high energy aero-
bic routines interspersed with intense cardio segments
and followed by a recovery period. Class will improve
cardio conditioning. This class is for any fitness level
and can be adjusted to a low or high impact class de-
pending on the level of fitness you are. Registration

YOGA CLASS
Yoga is for everyone! It increases strength, flexibility
and balance for both body and mind. Regular yoga prac-
tice can help to improve circulation, digestion and pos-
ture, stimulate the immune system, decrease stress level,
boost self-esteem and create a sense of calmness and
well-being. Bring your own mat, towel and water Come
in with an open mind and open heart. This class could

EARLY BIRD WORKOUT
For those of you who get up with the chickens, join-
ing these early moming classes ,vill work on ultimate
body sculpting, Pilates and Chicometrics. This class is
designed to maximize core strength, firm and tone your
butt, thighs and arms. This class will use dumbbells and
dynabands that will put you to the test with added in-
