Services were held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Des Moines Tuesday, March 9, for Pe- ter Henry Miller, Jr., 78, Des Moines. He died Fri- day, March 5, at Kavanagh House on 56th Street. Mr. Miller was born November 18, 1931 in Wonewoc, WI the son of Leo and Ruth (Marsh) Miller. Survivors include a son, Randy (Kristi) Miller, Norwalk; daughters, Stacy Miller and Paula Miller, Des Moines; ex-wife Dolores Miller, Des Moines; friend, Kathy Lundeen, Des Moines; sis- ters, Romaine Stackman, Rock Springs, WI, Claudine Kaukl, Richland Center, WI and Liz Morton of Wisconsin and three grandchildren. OBITUARY MARY E. "MARY LOU" SIEVERTSEN A memorial visitation was held Wednesday, March 10, for Mary E. "Mary Lou" Sievertsen, 68, Ankeny, who died Sat- urday, March 6, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. Mrs. Sievertsen was born in Des Moines, graduated from East High School and made her home in East Des Moines for most of her life. After retirement, she moved to the Ankeny community. She had worked as a Claims Processor for American Republic Insur- ance and enjoyed watch- ing movies and spending time with family and friends. Survivors include her mother, Mary Prine, Ankeny; daughters, Suzanne (Mark Dunham) DeLong, Ankeny, and Deanna (Hugh) Stafford, Bondurant; step-daughter, Sheryl Sievertsen, Daven- port; three grandchildren, Abby DeLong and Dillon and Hunter Stafford; brother, Jim Prine, St. Charles; sister, Lee (Larry) Steele, Norwalk; and sev- eral nieces and nephews. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Animal Rescue League. OBITUARY CORRINNE EVA JOHNSON Services were held in "' Des Moines Thursday, March 11, for Corrinne Eva Johnson, 87, Des Moines, who died Sunday, March 7, at Iowa Method- ist Medical Center. Mrs. Johnson was born January 26, 1923 in Rutland to Helen Gould Edmond and Cleo E. Searcy. Survivors include daughters, Donna Bottorff, Norwalk, Virginia Semple, Des Moines, and Judy Ih Weiland, McHenry, IL; sons, Jack, Wesley Chapel, FL, Roger, Des Moines, Thomas, Omaha, NE, and Bradley, Lowell, OR; brother, Merton Searcy, Slater; sisters, Georgia Hammond, Santa Barbara, CA and Maxine Bechtel, Des Moines; 14 grandchil- dren; 18 great-grandchil- dren, with the 19th on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; hus- band, Austin; son, Stephen James; sister, Carol; and brother, Chris. Memorial contributions may be made to March of Dimes or American Heart Association. OBITUARY RICHARD J. MCLAUGHLIN A Funeral Mass was held Monday, March 8, at St. Patrick's Irish Settle- ment Catholic Church in Cumming for Richard J. McLaughlin, 82, long-time resident of Des Moines and formerly of Winterset. Burial was at the parish cemetery. Mr. McLaughlin died Thursday, March 4, at Granger Nursing and Re- habilitation where he had resided the past three years. Memorials may be di- rected to St. Patrick's Irish Settlement Church. Survivors include his wife, Eleanor of Des Moines; son, Steven (Aysel) Norfolk, VA; three grandchildren, Peter, Brianna, and Gregory; five siblings, including Patricia Corkrean, of Winterset. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother. OBITUARY LILA SCHAEFER Lila Schaefer, 76, Milo, died Tuesday, March 9. Her family received friends Friday, March 12, at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Milo. Survivors include her children, Benjamin (Ruby) of Grand Rapids, MI, War- ren of Cedar Rapids and David (Janelle) of Norwalk; six grandchil- dren, Ben, Hannah, Cami, Emma, Abby and Weston; and siblings, Leo (June) Hamilton, Alberta Ruble, Swede (Shirley) Hamilton, Lorna (Cephus) Wright and Benny (Sara) Hamilton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, in 2009. OBITUARY MARY ALICE LACONA Services were held in Des Moines Wednesday, March 10, for Mary Alice Latona, 74, Des Moines, who died Monday March 8. Mrs. Latona was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church. She and her late husband, Charlie, had ownecl and operated Mama Lacona's Restaurant since 1957. Survivors include her children, Victoria (David) Tagli, Chuck Latona Jr., Vanessa Latona-Devine (Curt Hutcheson), Jim (Katie) Latona, Joe (Robin) Latona; 13 grandchildren and three great-grandchil- dren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie; daughter, Valerie Latona, and mother, Gladys. OBITUARY DOREEN ADAMS Services were held in Pleasantville Wednesda3 March 10, for Doreen Adams, 76, Pleasantville, who died Friday, March 5, at Taylor House in Des Moines. Burial was in Jor- dan Cemetery in West Des Moines. Mrs. Adams had lived in the Des Moines area most of her life until mov- ing to Pleasantville 20 years ago. She worked for Principal prior to retire- ment. Memorials may be made to the family. Survivors include two daughters, Jackie (David) Manson, Norwalk, and Cathie (Gene) Dawson, Pleasantville; daughter-in- law, Karen Bertrand, Des Moines; 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchil- dren.
