Warren County Leadership Graduates Thursday, April 19, at Simpson College, the members of the Warren County Leadership Insti- tute (WCLI) celebrated their accomplishments at a graduation ceremony. The 19th WCLI Class included: Justin Fletcher, Norwalk; Brent Hinders, Janet Bunce, Joe Grandstaff, Tanner Bunce, Carlisle; Chelsea Rouse, Erin Larsen, Jason Cross, Jesse Stewart, Kirk Baker, Michael Kleene, Michael Lindeberg, Staci Scheuren- brand, Indianola; Sarah • Harl, Des Moines. This year's class partici- pated in seven class ses- sions that occurred every other week starting in January. The class learned about different personality traits, how to effectively deal with controversy and how to improve their lead- ership skills. They dis- cussed Warren County government, education, emergency management and economic develop- ment. Near the end of the program, the class took a day trip around Warren County. The excursion featured tours of La Vida Loca Winery, Broadbent Distill6ry, Bedwell Gar- dens, Marbleworks, Sta- dium View for lunch and Williams Machine Shop. The class also organized and carried out a project for the betterment of War- ren County. This year's class raised $1,000 and various household prod- icts for the Warren County Necessity Pantry. This pantry was created by the Department of Public Health to assist those thaf do not quatif}; for other government assistance. The class also raised $500 for the North Warren Fire Department for the fitting expense of their fire masks. The North Warren Fire Department is the only fire department in Warren County that is not supported by city govern- ments. In total the Class of 2012 raised $1,500 for the betterment of Warren County.
