Box 325, Norwalk, IA 50211 Member of: National Newspaper Iowa Newspaper Association Association OBITUARY ROBERT AI LEN BROWN Memorial services were held Tuesday, June 4, at Cen- ter Chapel United Methodist Church, west of Indianola, for Robert Allen Brown, 53, rural Martensdale. He died Friday, May 31, at his home. Mr. Brown is survived by his children, Amanda, Kasey and Robert Allen Brown; grandchild, Madelynn; parents, Jack and Carolyn Brown; sLster, Rhonda Conner; brother, Randy Brown; three nephews and one niece. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rob- ert and Cleo (McMannis) Morrison and Vess and Edna (Brodine) Brown. Memorials may be directed to Warren County 4-H and the Isaac Walton League. HANEY Services were held MondaF June 3, at Grandview Park Funeral Home for Ralph Mathew Haney, 84, Johnston, who died Tuesda May 28. Burial was at Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter. Mr. Haney was born-to Glen Harley and Dorothy Miller March 3, 1029. Survivors include his wife, Helen; sons, Keith (Candy) Haney, Des Moines, Ken (Cindy) Haney, Norwalk and Kevin Hane)9 Johnston; six grand- children and six great-grandchildren. Memorials may be given to the family for a memo- rial at a later date. OBITUARY CAROL DELLEL SMITH WOOD A graveside service for the family was held in Indianola for Carol Dellel Smith Wood, 94, Quincy, IL. She was a resident of Quincy, IL for more than 40 years and passed away at the Sycamore Healthcare Centre in Qumcy. Mrs. Wood was born January 2, 1919 in Milford, UT to Aaron and Fay Chesley Smith. She was the youngest of three daughters, now all deceased. She spent her early life in Utah and California, where her father participated in the birth of the movie industry. In Salt Lake City, UT she married Jesse Earl Wood in 1937 and devoted her life to raising their three children. In 1959, the family moved to San Rafael, CA, then Des Moines in 1964 and finally Quincy, IL in 1972. Throughout her life she enjoyed music, gardening, painting, poetry, reading, collecting books, antique clocks and l orcelain. Preceding her in death in 1992 was her husband of 55 years. Survivors include her children, Byron Kent Wood of Oakland, CA, Vance Craig Wood of Roseville, MI and Francesca Diane Wood Beam. of Norwalk; six grandchil- dren and 18 great-grandchildren. OBITUARY WILLIAM (BILL) GIFFORD A memorial service, fol- lowed by a luncheon was held Tuesda3 June 11, at Harvest Church in Cumming (formerly Cum- ruing Community Church) for William (Bill) Gifford of Cumming. He died Tuesday, May 28, in Winterset. Survivors include one daughter, three grandchil- dren and three great- grandchildren. He was preceded in WILLIAM (BILL) death by his wife, Marcia. GIFFORD OBITUARY EDNA MARIE TAYLOR Services were held Fri2 day, June 7, at the Norwalk United Methodist Church for Edna Marie (Evans) Taylor, 88, Bevington. She died Monda3 June 3. Mrs. Taylor was born in Summerset October 12, 1924. She was a great mother and homemaker and was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. She loved grocery shopping and purchasing her bar- gains from discount stores. She loved to attend her children's sporting and school activities and spending time with her "grand babies." She also enjoyed the RFD cable channel and watching Ti- ger Woods play golf on television. Survivors include her children, William (Sharon) Taylor, Rundall (Rhonda) Taylor, Carmena (Joseph) Cataldo, Rory (Denise) Taylor and Dierdre Taylor. Also 11 grandchildren, Monnette, Tina, Shanna, Theresa, DeeDee, Brand Rachel, D.J. Cod36 Makelti, Kaylee, Matt, Anna, Amie and Tessa and great- grandchildren, Anasia, Karla, David and Ryder. EDNA MARIE TAYLOR She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Orlo M. Taylor; daughter, Constance M. Taylor; father, John Evans; mother, Lenna Larrance Evans; sister, Margaret Harris; and brothers, Ed- win Evans and-John Evans. Her family appreciates the care she received while she was at Bishop Drumm Care Center. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mar- tensdale in Edna's name.
