Do you have a business or social cause to promote? If yes, Facebook could be your answer. A program offering step-by-step in- struction on using this fast, free and friendly social networking website will be hosted by the library Monday, Jan. 3 at 6:30 p.m. in the library's meeting room. While you may have heard of Facebook, you may not have realized its full potential in today's high tech society, social media including IvlySpace, Twitter and Facebook is growing in importance and can connect a global populatiom Launched in 2004, Facebook has be- come the new tool for work-related communica- tion, advertising, dating and social networking. However, these positive aspects of Facebook are not without their costs. Recent reports have shown that Facebook is be- ing used by employers for background checks and unfortunately has also be- come a means for harass- ing behaviors. Find out about the website that connects 500 million people, how to be a part of it and how to use it safely. The presentation is free and open to the pub- lic.
