Sixty-six football play-
ers from Central Iowa have
been selected to Team
IOWA and hosted squads
from Minnesota, Nebraska
and St. Louis at Valley Sta-
dium in Des Moines this
past weekend. The nation-
wide toumament features
the country's top 6th, 7th
and 8th graders playing in
three separate 64-team,
single elimination brack-
ets.
Included were 7th
grader Mason Cassady of
Truro and 8th grader
Shane Hochstetler of
Norwalk.

have been honored as a
Presidential Scholar at AIB
College of Business for the

of a cell phone from his

ACCIDENTS
December 4 - 5 a.m.:
Jon Watkins, 40, New Vir-
ginia, was northbound on
90th Ave., lost control and
went into the ditch on the
east side of the road. His
vehicle started to come
back to the road striking
the bridge abutment and
sign.
December 4- 7:06 a.m.:
Jonathon Havener, 43, Des
Moines, was southbound
on Hwy 65/69. He was ap-
proaching Dakota Street
when a semi pulled out
eastbound and turned
north into Havener's path.
He swerved to miss the
semi, went onto shoulder,
entered ditch and rolled
onto his passenger side
